6/5/24 - City Clerk Janice Winfrey offers assurance that Detroit's election system is set for '24
- Comment from SM24’s network: “Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey seems obsessed over voter turnout, which the reporter doesn’t seem to question. I am not sure whether or not people vote is any clerk’s responsibility. It would seem that her job should only be concerned with making the electoral process secure, transparent and that every legally registered who chooses to vote can do so on an equal basis.”

- This shows why the amendment to the state constitution establishing the offense of harassing or intimidating voters is so dangerous. Expect a lot of these cases to be brought to dissuade Republicans from participating in the process, then have them barred from the process for life if this bill becomes law. Democrats are finding ways to weaponize law to keep Republicans from participating in the electoral process. Not a healthy development.
